SWEATIN’ DA BLUEZ - THE MUZIKLE

SEPTEMBER 18th 2011 lexington opera house

Two stories by famed Harlem Renaissance author Zora Neale Hurston, “Sweat” and “Story in Harlem Slang,” are infused with the blues classics of Koko Taylor, John Lee Hooker, Big Maybelle, B.B. King, Robert Johnson and others.  The show is full of wisdom, humor, surprises and delights for audiences age 10 and up.

‘Club Dubs’ Willie Eames on guitar renders blues with his own special touch; and Uniqueness Unlimited Dancers, choreographed by William Parris, fill the stage with glamour and spice.

Agape regulars Cathy Rawlings, Vivian Lasley-Bibbs, Tiffiney Baker, Carolyn Garner and Simon P. Rawlings are joined by Bobbi Wallace, Damon Greene, Jamason Coles and Nieta Wigginton. See our Cast page for bios.
